This is a departure from the normal web topics, however since we have all ridden past this never checked it out (or perhaps never noticed the sign), I thought I would share this with Y'all: this is a small hike to some pretty falls off of route 20 going around the reservoir. It is closer to the West Hartland side by going over the dam, take a right on 181 to route 20, pass Tunxis State Forest and West St...However most would likely be coming from the Granby/East Hartland direction going counter-clockwise around the resevoir. It's about 5.5 miles from East Hartland and will be on the left, flowing down to the resevoir. The sign is visibile from route 20 in the thick wooded cool section. You'll know it when you ride thru it. It is past the Hollow and up the other side.
The Falls are pretty and it is an easy hike, about 1/2 mile in. When the trail splits, go straight, not right. Go to the end and take a right to the overlook. There is a No Trespassing sign on the trail right at the top of the falls. This is because it is close the reservoir which was closed after 9/11. Cut down the hill 50 yards to view the falls. When you think you saw them, that is just the upper falls, go a little further to the bigger lower falls (hold on tight!).
